FAQ
Answers about ReFramed lenses, frames, the lens-replacement service, shipping to Chile and the United States, and returns.
Lenses and materials
What replacement lenses do you offer?
We cut replacement lenses to fit almost any sunglass or frame model, except free-form lenses. On each product page you choose polarized plastic (1 mm), non-polarized CR-39 organic or Elite polarized CR-39, in several tints. Every pair is custom-cut in our workshop in Providencia, Santiago.
What are your lenses made of?
Polarized plastic is a 1 mm thick plastic lens. CR-39 is an organic lens material, available non-polarized or as Elite polarized. Each product page shows the options available for your model.
Do your lenses have UV protection?
Yes. Every ReFramed lens has UV400 protection in every tint, which blocks 100% of UVA and UVB rays.
How do I know which lenses fit my frame?
Look for the model code printed inside the left temple arm, the one over your ear, for example OO9102 on an Oakley. Match that code with the product page. If your model is not listed, choose custom frames replacement lenses and we cut them to your frame.
Are these original Oakley or Ray-Ban lenses?
No. They are compatible replacement lenses custom-cut by ReFramed to fit your frame, and they do not carry the brand logo. ReFramed is independent and not affiliated with Oakley, Ray-Ban, Costa or Maui Jim.
Can you polish scratched lenses?
No, we do not polish lenses. Scratches cannot be removed without damaging the lens, so the reliable fix is a new pair cut to your frame, which is what we do.
Can I get prescription lenses in my own frames?
Yes, except free-form lenses. Prescription lenses cost CLP 24,990 for CR-39 with anti-reflective coating, or CLP 39,900 with anti-reflective, blue light filter and scratch-resistant coating, plus the fitting service. See prescription lens replacement.
Frames, sunglasses and reading glasses
What frames do you sell?
Polarized sunglasses, optical frames, reading glasses and clip-on frames, in bio-acetate, recycled plastic, TR90, stainless steel and natural wood. Use the filters on each collection to browse by color, shape, material, size and gender.
Lens-replacement service and workshop
How does the lens-replacement service work?
You send us your frames, we cut and install the new lenses at our workshop in Providencia, and we send them back ready to wear. In Chile the fitting service costs CLP 14,900 and includes round-trip shipping with Bluexpress. You can also drop your frames off at the workshop.
How long does it take?
Sunglass lenses are ready in 24 to 48 business hours from when your frames reach our workshop. Prescription lens times are confirmed in your quote. US orders ship within 15 days from receipt.
Where is your workshop and what are the hours?
Santa Magdalena 41, Local 5, Providencia, Santiago. Open Monday to Friday 10:30 to 15:00 and 16:00 to 19:30, and Saturday 10:30 to 16:00. Closed on Sunday. See our locations page for the latest hours.

Returns and warranty
What is your warranty?
Every lens has a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects such as coating peeling, delamination or optical distortion. If it applies, we replace the lenses at no cost or refund you. Contact us through the contact form to start a claim.
Can I return or exchange lenses?
Not when they were correctly ordered and have no defect, because every pair is made to order. We replace or refund lenses with a manufacturing defect, lenses that do not match your frame, and lenses damaged in transit. Details on Warranty and Returns.
Can I exchange a frame?
Yes. Sunglasses and optical frames can be exchanged once within 60 days of delivery. The frame must be unused and in its packaging, and you pay the return shipping. Only the frame is exchanged, not the lenses.
